1. Search help + guides (default mode)
Tap the button, type a keyword. Ask searches every guide (~80 articles on Australian finance rules) and every how-to (like this one) by title, description, keywords, and body. Ranked results appear inline. Tap any hit → open the article.
Ranking is straightforward: title matches score highest, then description, then keywords, then body. How-tos get a small boost because “how do I X” usually wants product docs first, education content second.
2. Ask about my account (personal-lookup mode)
Toggle to Ask about my account. Now Ask answers questions about YOUR data, pulled from your saved profile. Templated sentence + a deep-link to the source page. No AI ever sees the answer — it’s a fixed intent routed to a real database read.
- "What’s my mortgage rate?”
- "What’s my mortgage repayment?”
- "What’s my next bill?”
- "What’s our income / take-home?”
- "How much CCS?”
- "How much FTB?”
- "What’s our super balance?”
- "How much have we saved?”
- "Who are my kids?”
- "When’s the next birthday?”
3. What happens when a question doesn’t match
If your phrasing isn’t in our intent vocab, Ask falls through to help search — so you still get relevant articles rather than a dead end. Over time we’ll add more intents based on what people actually type.
4. Trust properties
- Zero LLM generation. Every personal-lookup answer is templated. The AI never writes financial output.
- Deterministic. Same question against the same data = same answer.
- No fabrication risk. If the data isn’t on file, Ask says so — it doesn’t guess.
- Cited sources. Every answer includes a deep-link to the page where the number lives.
5. Not the same as chat
We used to have a generic AI chat surface. It’s been removed. What replaced it is this deterministic search + lookup combo — more useful in practice because it never guesses. For human support, email hello@nestwise.net.au (the Ask button’s empty state has the link).
