Deeming Calculator

Services Australia assumes your financial assets (bank, term deposits, shares, super in pension phase) earn a set rate — even if they don’t. That “deemed income” is what counts in the income tests for Age Pension, JobSeeker, Commonwealth Seniors Health Card and more. Current rates for 2026-27 below.

How this figure is used
Services Australia uses the deemed income figure — not what your assets actually earn — inside the income test for the Age Pension, JobSeeker, Commonwealth Seniors Health Card, Parenting Payment and a few other payments. If you earn MORE than the deemed rate, the extra doesn’t reduce your payment. If you earn less, the deemed figure still applies.
